Theo Foinidis was born in 1976 in Thessaloniki, Greece, where he studied Classical Piano, Harmony, Counterpoint etc. Along with his classical music studies, he was also attracted by Jazz Music and Improvisation and acquired a jazz piano diploma at the Modern Conservatory of Thessaloniki, with G. Simadopoulos and L.Tzimkas as his main teachers. While being in Thessaloniki, he also studied Sound Engineering and Music Production.
In 2004, he moved in Vienna to continue his studies at the University of Music and Applied Arts, where he acquired a Master of Arts Degree in Contemporary Composition under the supervision of Professors D. Schermann and D. Μüller-Siemens, and studied Electro-Acoustic Composition with B. Liberda και V. Klien.
His scope of work as a composer, arranger and producer, covers a wide range of genres such as Jazz, Contemporary, Classical and Electronic.
His Contemporary works have been performed live by various orchestras and music ensembles such as Webern Symphony Orchestra, Belgrade Chamber Orchestra “LJUBICA MARIC”, Haydn Orchestra Eisenstadt, Trio Tritonus, Triopolis Vienna and others.
In 2017, he collaborated with “Music Is” Action Network and composed his contemporary work “Ralugerri” which was choreographed and performed by a dance ensemble at “Music in Motion Festival 2017” in Athens, Greece.
He has released two albums of electronic music, under the name of “Ιllconu”, one album with compositions for piano and electronics, under the name of “Silicon Nectar”, while his latest album “Dream within A Dream” has been co-written with the singer-songwriter Marva Voulgari for their electronic project called “Marva Von Theo”.
As a classical & jazz pianist he has performed live in various stages in Greece and abroad. Since 2016, he has been performing live with his project “Marva Von Theo” using synthesizers and electronics.
